FAQs

Have a Question?

The answer may be here. If you can't find what you are looking for, drop me a line and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

  • How long before the wedding must we complete our Notification of Intended Marriage Form? - At least 1 month before the ceremony date.
  • When and where can I get married? -You can be married at any time or place.
  • If we want to get married in a public park can we? - Yes, but you will need to check your local council website to see if you need to book.
  • Do I have to have my Father walk me down the aisle? - No you don’t but if you want to you can or have anyone else you wish.
  • Who can be my witnesses? - Your two witnesses can be anyone you wish, however, they must be over 18 and be able to understand the ceremony.
  • Is it true I can’t get married if I am intoxicated directly before the ceremony?-Correct! All parties, including the two witnesses, must be sober at the time of the ceremony. If there is any doubt, a celebrant will refuse to conduct the ceremony.
  • How does the Bride sign the marriage certificates? - In her maiden name.
  • How will I remember what to say? - You don’t need to memorise anything, you can repeat after the celebrant or read your vows.
  • Is there anything we should consider if we want a beach wedding? - Its a good idea to check tide times, here is a link to the Bureau of Meteorology - http://www.bom.gov.au/oceanography/projects/ntc/nt_tide_tables.shtml
  • What can I do if there is a bad weather forecast? - Regardless of when and where you are to have your ceremony, it is always a good idea to have a 'Plan B'. At the planning stage think about what you will do if the weather turns bad, check with your venue to see if the ceremony can be moved under cover at the last minute or,  if your ceremony is on a beach or in the bush, will there be shelter for you and your guest? And don't forget to include your celebrant and other wedding providers, you'll still want us to turn up if you change your venue!
